Hi! I’m Dr. Tabitha Johnson. I’m a marriage and family therapist, writer, national speaker, and happily married wife of 12 years. 

Those that know me would say that I am deeply fervent in my faith. I grew up in the church, and am blessed that my parents provided a wonderful example of a godly and healthy marriage. I’ve served Christ since a teen, and have volunteered within the local church in various capacities. I have helped launch two ARC (Association of Related Churches) churches, and have served on staff in Jacksonville, Florida at Elevate Life Church, one of America’s 100 fastest-growing churches. 

I fell in love with the field of marriage and family and completed both master’s and doctorate degrees in marriage and family therapy. Over the last 18 years, I’ve worked with thousands of individuals, couples, and families. I’ve helped many marriages be mended and individual problems solved. I specialize in couple relationships; specifically, premarital counseling, communication and conflict, emotional disconnection, physical or sexual intimacy issues, and infidelity recovery. 

I am passionate about helping people experience healthy relationships, and serving and strengthening the local church. The partnership model brings my passions together, allowing me and my exceptional team to help pastors, church staff, and its members by providing therapy, online courses, and resources. To me, It’s not just my career. It’s my calling.

My Biography

I received a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Valdosta State University, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Marriage and Family Therapy from The Florida State University. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in Florida (MT2673), licensed clinical supervisor, and clinical fellow in the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. I have served as a couple and family educator, professor, and early childhood specialist. I established the Healthy Marriage Initiative for the state of Mississippi in 2007 and was instrumental in shaping Mississippi’s public policy, working alongside Mississippi’s Department of Human Services and Mississippi Center for Public Policy. I have also partnered in successful projects with Family Life and am recognized as a national authority in the field of relationships, with guest appearances on American Family Radio, Focus on the Family, TBN Affiliates, and multiple local stations such as WJXT Channel 4, and Fox30/CBS 47 Action News as their marriage and relationship expert. I have been featured in the Huffington Post, Woman’s Day, About.com newlyweds section, and mywedding.com. 

I am the CEO of Family Therapy Associates of Jacksonville and have spent the past eight years developing the practice and overseeing an amazing team of highly qualified, nationally and internally trained therapists. My team is amongst the most skilled clinicians in the area, and has witnessed thousands of life transformations, as evidenced by hundreds of 5-star client reviews.
