    Sex education helps inform people through medically accurate and complete information that addresses the multispectrum of sexual health. It encompasses the physical, emotional, mental and social aspects of human sexuality. Studies have shown that age appropriate sex education for children and adolescents promotes healthy sexual behaviors and helps prevent and decrease the risk of teenager pregnancy and STDs. It also helps teens make informed, healthy and responsible choices.

    Sexual identity is an individual internal perception and expression of who someone is and who they are romantically or sexually attracted to. There are many different ways for people to describe their sexuality. Some of the identities people have described themselves as includes heterosexual/straight, gay/lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, asexual, queer/questioning.  This sheet will provide some general information about sexual identity and how to support those who describe their sexuality in different ways.
